KORN To Tour With DEFTONES, FLYLEAF?
March 30, 2006According to a posting on the KORN fan site Korn Unleashed, the band's guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told fans after the group's show at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Tuesday, March 28 that KORN will be touring with DEFTONES on the second leg of their U.S. tour this summer. Opening the trek will be FLYLEAF.
In addition to the four original members, KORN's current live ensemble features a second guitarist, a percussionist, a keyboardist, and a multi-instrumentalist who also handles backup vocals. Shaffer told Launch why the group doubled in size. "We wanted to add to the whole KORN experience," he said. "We wanted to, you know, stay true to the recordings of the new album, and also bring something, some new life to some of the old songs."
KORN play tonight (Thursday, March 30) in Chicago, Illinois. This tour finishes up on April 4 in Toronto.
The band will release a collection called "Live and Rare" on May 9. The set will feature 13 cuts, including recordings of PINK FLOYD's "Another Brick in the Wall" and METALLICA's "One".
"Coming Undone" is the new single from KORN's seventh album, "See You on the Other Side", which has sold 782,000 copies since coming out in December, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
